RAW Supershow Fantasy Card Results 02.20.12

Tonight's WWE RAW Supershow opens with John Cena sitting in an isolation room, only one dim lightbulb illuminating his face from above. Cena says that he initially formed an alliance with The Nexus to put the Rock out of commission and to extend the branch of expertise from someone with the charisma and ability to lead to the future of the business help them establish their name. Cena says that over the course of the last three months, he has been continually disappointed by his recruits that he had hoped to mold into the most dominant militant force that the WWE had ever experienced.

Cena says that The Nexus was never going to get the job done and this was further proven when The Rock returned last night to spoil any chance of the main event at Wrestlemania being for the WWE Championship. Cena says that he can’t concern himself with a pursuit of the WWE Title anymore and as such will abstain from participation tonight. Cena says he must focus all of his attention on The Rock and formulating a strategy to put him away forever.

We go back to the arena and CM Punk enters, STILL WWE Champion. We are live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN as Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show. Punk grabs a mic and thanks Dwayne for sticking his nose where it didn’t belong last night to ensure that he remained WWE Champion and says that unlike most in the WWE Universe, he doesn’t care who ends up winning in the “Main Event” at Wrestlemania, because he can guarantee that one way or the other, the bigger company Yes-Man will win and that’s not what he’s here for. Punk says that he personally hopes that they both find a way to lose.
Punk addresses the current situation that stands before him. CM Punk says that tonight he has a date with resolution as he will finally put his business with the Undertaker behind him in a match for the WWE Championship. The WWE Champion calls out Bret Hart and says that last night’s PPV presents them with a real issue. Punk says that half of the participants in the Championship Chase Tournament have removed themselves from competition. Punk says that after tonight, Undertaker has a match at Wrestlemania with Chris Jericho, so Y2J is out of the title picture. Punk says that Cena has already pulled out for the night and says he just read a post off of @HEELZiggler’s Twitter Page that says “In Light of recent humiliating losses on Friday and Sunday Night, he is actively boycotting tonight’s action and not competing tonight. Punk also points out that Jeff Hardy is incapacitated after the stunt he pulled during last night’s show, which presents a real problem as the tournament bracket has very quickly fallen apart. Punk requests that Bret rectify this situation with a fresh, new solution.

Bret enters and says that he has a resolution for this fiasco. Bret says that he and Theodore Long came to a interpromotional agreement regarding the WWE Title picture at Wrestlemania. Bret points out that there are still several RAW and Smackdown superstars that currently have no plans for Wrestlemania, so both brands have fielded twelve hungry superstars and will decide the #1 contender in a 24-man over-the-top Battle Royal. The last man standing at the end of the evening will challenge for CM Punk’s WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 28. Punk grins and tells Bret to tell GM Long that he’s outdone himself again. Punk rolls from the ring and heads back up the ramp as Bret looks on.

Back in the isolation room with Cena. Cena says that for the last seven years, he’s been trying far too hard to please everyone and make the entirety of the WWE Universe love him. Cena concedes that not everyone, let alone anyone, is going to approve of his every action and in order to make any progress, he may have to step on a few toes. Cena puts his head down in stern contemplation as we go to commercial.

Back from break and America’s Most Wanted is in the ring awaiting the Tag Team Championship Match they were promised last week. Out comes MCMG.
MCMG def. America’s Most Wanted to remain WWE Tag Team Champions
Finish comes when Sabin curls up during an attempted Death Sentence, sending Harris crashing to the mat. Sabin rolls over Storm’s shoulder and into position for a Falling Neckbreaker. Alex Shelley hits a Diving Splash to put Storm away with Skull and Bones for the three count.

A teaser for tonight’s WWE Championship Match between CM Punk and The Undertaker.

Cena acknowledges that he thought he held the WWE in the palm of his hand when he assumed control of The Nexus. Cena says he stunned the world and the inexplicably loyal, snot-nosed kids who followed him all of these years when he became the enemy. Cena says perhaps the haters were on to something this whole time. Maybe the detractors recognized that he has gone soft since 2004 and were only trying to help him keep his edge, keep his wits about him and not get complacent. Cena apologizes to the haters for letting their “helpful advice” fall on deaf ears until now.

Wade Barrett def. Sin Cara

Finish comes when Barrett snags Cara in the midst of La Mistica and drills him with Wasteland for three.

A teaser comes up for the #1 Contender’s Battle Royal later tonight.

The next WWE Hall of Fame Induction will be announced next.

Cena remembers back to the last time The Rock competed in a match of this magnitude at Wrestlemania, It was 10 years ago in Toronto. Cena recounts that at Wrestlemania X8, The Rock upended the legendary Hulk Hogan in a match for the ages that at the time was billed to determine who was the “Absolute Best Ever.” Cena recognizes that many see him as a “Modern Day Hulk Hogan” in more capacities than one. Cena says that history tends to repeat itself, but in order to prevail, he must not allow history to repeat in this particular instance. The light in the room flickers as we go to commercial.

Back from break and the next announcement for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012 belongs to “The Model” RICK MARTEL.

CHRIS JERICHO enters and discusses how since The Royal Rumble, he’s been prevented from seizing the WWE Championship on countless occasions by The Undertaker. Jericho says that this all ends on April 1 at Wrestlemania. Jericho tells the crowd that upon his return, he promised that the Old Guard would fall by the wayside and that the world as everyone knew it would come to a screeching halt. Jericho says that the world as The WWE Universe has come to know it is a world where The Undertaker is feared, a world where “The Streak” has been equated as an Everest that will never be achieved, a world where seemingly no one can end the runaway freight train that is The Undertaker. Jericho says that he has returned to show everyone that that world no longer exists.

Jericho muses on how all things eventually come full circle. Jericho says when he first arrived on the scene in WWE back in August of 1999, his mission objective was to save the WWE from accepting less than excellence. Jericho says that his focus shifted upon his second return to Saving the WWE Universe from mind-numbing monotony of alleged wrestlers like John Cena and Randy Orton and when he realized that the WWE Universe didn’t want saving, the focus became saving himself from all of them. Jericho observes that upon his third return, his objective has made the revolution and has once again become to save the WWE from the idea that nothing ever changes. Jericho says that some things never change, as Jericho still equates to excellence, but reminds the crowd that he is still here to save the WWE from The Undertaker and one more damn year of superstars falling at The Deadman’s feet. Jericho insists that he won’t lie down for The Undertaker and tells The Phenom that it’s fitting that Full Circle for Y2J means The End of The Road for him.

The lights go out and the gong sounds as The Undertaker lurches down to ringside and into the ring. Taker engages in a tense staredown with Jericho. Jericho stares directly into Undertaker’s eyes and tells him “You will not out-psych me, you will not outsmart me, and you most certainly will not outdo me. You want to play mind games? I can play, too. You got a taste of that during the Last Man Standing Match last night. Mark my words Deadman, I will emerge victorious at Wrestlemania, I WILL end the Streak and on April 2, you will wake up to the realization that for all the accomplishments, for all the accolades, the achievements, for every victim you’ve claimed over nearly 25 years in WWE, your lasting legacy will be 19 and ONE. I will solidify my legacy once and for all, Six-Time World Champion, NINE TIME Intercontinental Champion, FIRST EVER Undisputed Champion, FIRST man to EVER knock off The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night, The Best In The World At Every Last Thing I Do, and to cement my legacy, I will go down in history as THE ONE. THE MAN. The man who did what no other living soul could do. At the end of it all, Deadman, my legacy will read: CHRIS JERICHO: THE MAN WHO ENDED “THE STREAK”.”
Undertaker grabs Jericho by the throat and attempts a Chokeslam, but Jericho counters with a Codebreaker and rolls from the ring. Jericho retreats, yelling “This will not stop Taker. I will haunt your dreams every night until Wrestlemania, and every night thereafter.” as we go to break.

Back from break and Jim Ross delivers Breaking News that THE ROCK is on his way to the arena and will deliver an address to the fans later tonight concerning Wrestlemania, John Cena and his surprise return last night.

Alberto Del Rio def. Sheamus when Ricardo Rodriguez interfered

Finish came as Rodriguez took a Brogue Kick for his involvement. Sheamus turns around into a Step Up Enziguri and a Jumping Arm Breaker. Del Rio locks in the Cross Armbreaker and refuses to let go. Sheamus even climbs back to his feet twice and drops Del Rio to the canvas with him in an attempt to break the hold, but Del Rio has a death grip on Sheamus’ arm. After minutes of struggling for the bottom rope, Sheamus swallows his pride and taps out.

Christian is headed to the ring to explain his actions after Edge’s match at Elimination Chamber next.

Cena is still in the isolation room. His monologue now takes him to an in depth self-discovery of whether or not he truly is a “Modern Day Hogan”. Maybe he is just the guy who took the hand away from his ear and put it in front of his face. Cena says that he can’t afford to make the same mistakes that Hogan did when confronting the Rock ten years ago as we go to break.

Back from commercial and Christian is in the ring with a mic, soaking in the boos. Christian finally speaks up and says that he owes an explanation to absolutely no one but delivers a brief synopsis. Christian says like everyone else, he was heartbroken when he learned that his best friend Edge had to retire due to his injuries, but eventually made peace with the inevitable and went on to briefly shine in the spotlight in honor of his career, even becoming World Heavyweight Champion at one juncture. He was finally getting the opportunity to shine on his own, but all of that came to an end on January 29.

Christian says that Edge couldn’t stay away, he couldn’t resist hogging the spotlight. Christian points out that Edge immediately proceeded to toss both he and Alberto Del Rio from the match, only to dismiss the elimination as “Heat of the Moment”. Christian says he never bought it for a minute, but had to lure Edge in with a false sense of reconciliation that included a Tag Team Title reign. Christian admits that he has been actively sabotaging Edge at every turn since losing the tag titles on ECW that week. Christian says that Edge’s worst infraction of all was keeping his recovery a secret from everyone, including his most intimate friends. Christian tells Edge that he was every bit as dishonest, if not more so than he has been since The Rumble. Christian says if Edge has any integrity at all, he’ll accept the challenge he’s laying forward. EDGE versus CHRISTIAN at Wrestlemania.

The Rated R Superstar hits the entrance ramp, charges to the ring and Christian begins stomping Edge from the second he slides under the ropes. Edge starts throwing rights and lefts to fight Christian off, comes off the ropes and drills Captain Charisma with a vile Spear. Edge grabs the mic and accepts the challenge. Bret Hart enters and says that both of these men seem like their more than spoiling for a fight tonight and proceeds to book each with their own match tonight. Bret tells Edge to get ready as his match is next.

Edge def. Andy Douglas

Finish comes when Edge counters out of a Double Underhook DDT into Edgecution for the three.

Bret Hart tells Christian that he’ll be in action later against CHRIS JERICHO.
Another teaser for the #1 Contender’s Battle Royal later tonight.
Cena is back in the isolation room and says that the time has come for him to Embrace the Hatred that everyone wants him to be consumed by.

Randy Orton def. Rey Mysterio

Great back and forth match. Rey connects with the 619 and leaps to the top rope for a West Coast Pop, but Orton rebounds and captures Mysterio in mid-leap with an RKO. Orton makes the cover and gets the three.

J.R. and King run down what we know for the Wrestlemania Card thus far. On the docket to this point is Chris Jericho versus The Undertaker, Sheamus defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton and Wade Barrett, a triple threat contest between Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio and Sin Cara, Stone Cold Steve Austin one-on-one with Hulk Hogan, the Diva’s Open issued by Kharma, the just announced contest between Edge and Christian and of course, Cena and The Rock. The first anthem is revealed for Wrestlemania 28, and it’s “Bridge Burning” by the Foo Fighters.

Cena resigns himself to the fact that The Nexus couldn’t get the job done due to youth and inexperience. Cena decides he needs to rally around some seasoned veterans and high-profile names who know how to handle themselves in the ring, the bulb continues to flicker as we fade to black for another commercial.

Back from break and lightning flashes across the screen, snow and static cuts in and out before cutting away to the test pattern again. The word “UNSTOPPABLE” blinks on the screen while “03/12/12” scrolls across. The signal cuts out and the promo fades to black.

Chris Jericho def. Christian via Count Out

Another solid contest between familiar opponents, finish comes when Jericho attempts the Codebreaker, but Christian blocks and rolls from the ring, content to leave and take the ten count. Edge meets Christian on the entrance ramp and Spears him for the second time tonight.

Another promo for the WWE Draft-- “SHAKING THINGS UP IN THREE WEEKS”.
Another teaser for the Rock addressing the WWE Universe live later tonight.
John Cena continues to stay in his cubicle, and resolves that there’s a poison, a venom running through his veins that surpasses even hatred. Cena says if he ever hopes to overcome the Rock at Wrestlemania he needs to launch a movement even more sinister than his efforts to rally The Nexus. Cena’s countenance shifts to an ashy determination.

CM Punk def. The Undertaker to remain WWE Champion

Undertaker nearly takes the title away, but the finish comes as Taker attempts a Chokeslam and is met by a Codebreaker by Jericho. Jericho rolls out of the ring, allowing Punk to polish off the Deadman with the GTS to win the match and retain the championship. After the match, Punk salutes Jericho as he celebrates in the ring.

Cena appears to be growing more and more conflicted with the decision he’s about to make. Cena says he’s been a product of the system for too long, but he can’t make the transition on his own. He says he’ll need the assistance of those in high places to pull this off as we go to our final commercial.

HHH wins 25 Man Over the top Battle Royal for #1 Contention of the WWE Title
The match comes down to the Game, Miz, Morrison, Kane and the boycotting Dolph Ziggler, who has decided at the last minute to end his embargo for a shot at the Title. Hunter dumps Ziggler and Miz both over the top while Kane tosses Morrison. Finish comes when Triple H pedigrees Kane and clotheslines him over the top rope. CM Punk and Triple H meet with a staredown in the middle of the ring. The WWE Champion raises the title over his head defiantly as The Cerebral Assassin glances longingly at the belt. THE ROCK’s music hits and Punk and Hunter clear the ring in opposite directions. Hunter heads back up the ramp and cross paths with The Rock on the way up. Punk exits through the crowd.

The Rock cuts a lengthy promo on how Cena’s biggest mistake was that he didn’t get the job done. The Great One tells Cena that it doesn’t matter what he has planned. Rock tells Cena that there is no way that he’s marching into his backyard at the Biggest Show on Earth and dropping a loss in the Main Event.

Cena appears on the titantron and addresses The Rock to his face. Cena says that for the longest time he was unsure that he could sink to the depths necessary to ensure triumph at Wrestlemania, but with the assistance of those around him. The objective is within reach. Cena tells The Rock to lay low for the next few weeks because he will in fact succumb to depths even more sinister than The Nexus to do what needs to be done. Cena says he needs to ratchet up the aggression, dial up the fury, and push the envelope to the extent that certain actions committed will reach points that even Cena will regret.

Cena rips off the Nexus T-shirt and KEVIN NASH leans into John Cena’s dimly light cubicle. Cena vows “No More Gray Area, from this point on, John Cena trades in black and yellow for BLACK AND WHITE...FOR LIFE.” Unbelievable. John Cena, with the help of Kevin Nash has resurrected THE nWo. Cena says that the ground rules from now until Wrestlemania are plain and simple. JOIN OR DIE. Cena pulls the plug on his dimly-lit panic room and casts the ENTIRE Target Center in a flood of grayscale. The Rock’s microphone screeches and shorts out, effectively silencing any last thoughts The Rock may have wished to share with those in attendance. RAW is at the mercy of the New World Order as the Road to Wrestlemania soldiers on as Supershow goes off the air.
