Tonight's OLD SCHOOL RAW Supershow opens with the classic video package and siren, emanating live from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to the show wearing the classic Monday Night RAW blazers. Advertised for tonight is fallout from last night's Royal Rumble PPV and six qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber Match in three weeks time. Also, another inductee will join the ranks of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012 as we go to the ring.
The Rated "R" Superstar, EDGE comes down to the ring and explains the LONG story that ended with his HIGHLY unexpected return to action in last night's Rumble match. Edge gets on the mic and tells the WWE Universe that last night felt DAMN good to step back through the ropes with more planned than emceeing a talk segment. Edge tells the fans that he missed them a hell of a lot and explains how last night's comeback to end all comebacks was made possible.
Edge says that his world, his livelihood came crashing down when he was given the news last year that he inevitably came to expect. He says that he genuinely thought his career was finished after Wrestlemania and was prepared for life away from the ring. Edge says that the Wednesday afternoon after he delivered his retirement announcement on Smackdown, he received a phone call from Dr. James Andrews. Edge says Dr. Andrews offered him an alternative option of a highly experimental, highly untested high-risk yet high-reward series of procedures that could relieve the degenerative, narrowing effects in his spinal canal brought on by the Cervical Vertebrae fusion surgery he underwent in 2003.
Edge says he weighed the consequences of taking the chance over the weekend and agreed to go in for a preliminary consultation the next Monday morning. Edge reveals that over the months, he has made only sporadic appearances on his Legends' contract to compensate for the fact that he was actively undergoing
treatments en route to recovery. Edge says it wasn't until about Summerslam that he started to realize any positive effects. Edge says that by the time Bryan Danielson took the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series, he began to hit the gym again to start conditioning and getting back into ring shape.
Edge says he knew for sure that he was ready to step back into the ring last week during The Cutting Edge segment, that taking the Last Ride from The Undertaker was the big test to see if the procedure had been a success. The Rated R Superstar says when he was able to return to his feet under his own power after taking that bump he made a point to ensure he made an impact on the Royal Rumble match on Sunday. Tears begin to well up at this point as Edge tells the WWE Universe that he didn't need to win the Rumble match; that just to step through the curtain one more time and hear the chants of "Thank You Edge", "We Want Edge" and "Welcome Back" was enough to convince him that he has already won.
CHRISTIAN enters and wraps Edge in an enormous bear hug and welcomes him back to action. Christian tells Edge that he's still a little taken aback by all of this. Christian explains that Edge kept this secret from everyone, including him, until Edge showed up in the Rumble match last night. Christian asks him why he held out on the man that has been his best friend since childhood, moreover, why he targeted him of all people upon entering the Rumble last night. Edge explains that Christian knows just as well as anyone the atmosphere that surrounds the Royal Rumble: It's every man for himself, you have to put up blinders as it concerns who you're battling with all for a shot to go to the main event of the Greatest Show on Earth. Edge apologizes and tells Christian that he got caught up in the moment, and for what it's worth, he eliminated Del Rio first. Christian accepts Edge's apology and makes an offer. Christian reminds Edge that tonight RAW Goes Old School and invites Edge to step in the ring with him one more time for old times' sake as a team and go after the WWE Tag Team Championships TONIGHT. The Cheshire Cat Grin spreads across Edge's face as he gladly accepts Christian's invitation. E & C reunite tonight to take on BEER MONEY for the WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Edge grabs the mic and says he was saving it for later but what the Hell...
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE WITH FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY....THE SOON-TO-BE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, EDGE AND CHRISTIAN WILL NOW PAUSE FOR A FIVE-SECOND POSE.
E & C ham it up for the cameras as we go to our first commercial break.
Back from break and we get video footage of Morrison's incredible "Table Drawbridge" stunt at last night's Rumble including his subsequent escape from McIntyre's attempted elimination to dump both Drew and later Jeff Hardy from the match while eliminating himself. McIntyre enters to his old theme and Hardy enters to his classic "Team Extreme" theme before Morrison hits the ring accompanied by Melina and her "Paparazzi" theme. The first triple threat match of the evening will determine who secures the first spot in the RAW Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship.
John Morrison def. Jeff Hardy and Drew McIntyre to qualify for the Chamber
An early contender for match of the evening, momentum shifted numerous times between the three before Morrison used the ropes for leverage to avert Future Shock by McIntyre. With Drew down, Hardy scaled the turnbuckle and connected with the Swanton. Before Hardy could recover, Morrison drills him with Starship Pain and covered McIntyre for the three. Morrison will enter Satan's Structure for a chance to main event Wrestlemania.
Backstage with Shawn Michaels and Edge. HBK informs him that as a full-time active competitor, he can no longer serve as the General Manager of Monday Night RAW. Edge thinks for a second, pats Michaels on the back and says he knows just the guy for the job before walking away.
New Women's Champion Natalya is backstage with her father Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart when Beth Phoenix confronts her and tells her that she better find another partner because the Board of Directors has just booked a Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match to take place NEXT!
Beth Phoenix enters the ring and awaits her tag team partners, and it's Tamina and HER father "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. Natalya enters with the Anvil to the CLASSIC Hart Foundation Theme (circa 1990-95). Natalya introduces her partner, another fellow Canadian who did fairly well for herself--TRISH STRATUS! The participants enter the ring and the bell rings to get the match underway.
Trish Stratus, Natalya and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart def. Beth Phoenix, Tamina and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
Good match. Finish comes when Trish drills Beth with Stratusfaction and Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter on Tamina for the submission victory. After the match, KHARMA makes her long awaited return and makes a beeline for the ring. After staring down all participants, she turns her attention to Trish and crushes the seven-time Women's Champion with an Implant Buster and leaves the ring, casting a death glare to the Women's Champion as Natalya tends to Trish.
A teaser runs for the Elimination Chamber PPV. The official theme is announced as "This Is Gonna Hurt" by Sixx:AM.
Backstage and Earl Hebner is helping to officiate, of all things, a chess match between Tony Atlas and Hornswoggle. Eugene comes flying into the room screaming about the fact that he’s meeting Saba Simba in person. Hornswoggle captures Atlas in checkmate and starts running circles around the room. Atlas hangs his head, and Ron Simmons enters the frame, and well...
Edge is backstage taping his wrists and Christian comes up from behind, asking him if he’s ready to make history tonight. E&C versus Beer Money for the titles is coming up Next!
Edge and Christian def. Beer Money Inc. to become NEW Tag Team Champions
Bobby Roode never had a chance. Throughout the contest, James Storm stood on the apron, wearing his cowboy hat, t-shirt and sunglasses, looking disinterested in the contest and swilling beer. When the time came for Roode to make the tag, Storm took off the sunglasses, looks Roode dead in the eye and tells him “SORRY ‘BOUT YOUR DAMN LUCK” before smashing the bottle over his head. Storm jumps off the apron and leaves the match. Finish came as Edge and Christian sandwiched Roode with simultaneous spears to the ribs and spine. Edge made the cover as the legal man and the E&C revolution rose again with Edge and Christian as the World Tag Team Champions for the 8th Time.
After the match, Storm returned to the ring and Chris Harris emerges. The duo shakes hands and destroy Roode with the Death Sentence. Storm gets on the mic and tells his former partner that at long last, “It doesn’t pay to be Roode”, least of all to a Cowboy. Storm officially announces that AMW is getting the band back together before spitting more beer into the face of the fallen Roode.
J.R. and King run down the list of Superstars already announced for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012, including Randy Savage and Elizabeth, Owen Hart, Jake Roberts, the recently returned Edge, The Rock and as of last week, Demolition. Another new inductee to be named later tonight.
Teaser runs reminding everyone that John Morrison has already qualified for the Elimination Chamber Match earlier tonight. Another Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match up next. Kofi Kingston makes his way to the ring as we go to break.
Dolph Ziggler def. Kofi Kingston and Batista to qualify for the Chamber
Batista and Ziggler enter to classic themes. Finish comes when Ziggler slaps a Sleeper on Batista, and the Animal throws him off. Kofi connects with Trouble In Paradise. and Ziggler rebounds with the ZigZag, picking up the win. Ziggler now joins Morrison in the most violent construct ever devised in WWE history.
An announcement is expected at any minute from Shane McMahon regarding ECW’s future and what things will look like going forward as we go to another commercial.
Shane O’ enters and announces that ECW has life after death yet again, and that the brand extension is complete. ECW will begin airing new episodes Wednesday Night at 8pm on the brand new WWE Network. Shane continues, announcing that WWE will have competitive action ALL WEEK LONG for the foreseeable future, with a brand-new, Re-purposed NXT on Tuesday Nights, geared toward superstars that don’t get the exposure or air time that others experience on the Big Three on the new network and subsequent episodes of WWE Superstars on Thursday will feature three marquee matches each week, one for each brand. Shane tells the WWE Universe to get ready for the facelift, the first new episode of NXT begins tomorrow night. Shane heads out, playing to the crowd.
J.R. teases the Hall of Fame announcement, coming up NEXT as we go to another intermission.
Back from break and John Cena and the Nexus enter the ring, which is set up in the style of a movie theater, complete with seats, popcorn machine and an usher. The icing on the cake being a gigantic IMAX screen set up in the center of the ring. The usher escorts Cena and the Nexus to their seats as John welcomes the WWE Universe to the world premiere of a new interview segment called The NEXUS CENA-PLEX (Cineplex). Cena rationalizes that since his opponent at Wrestlemania has made it abundantly clear that Hollywood means more to him than the fans that used to pay for seats to watch him night in and night out, He figured he’d ease Rocky’s transition back in by setting up the ring like a movie theater. Cena tells The Rock that when he finally gets up the nerve to climb out of his hospital bed and when he isn’t thumbing through a script that will draw in less than half of the Box Office gross that an appearance on Sunday Night Heat would garner, Cena will be ready to take him apart on the Grandest Stage of them All.
However, Cena says that The Rock is not why he’s here tonight. Cena says between unveiling a little new school and keeping with the Old School motif tonight, he’s here to reveal the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012. Cena says he hopes the Rock is watching, because it’s someone that he’s all too familiar with. The tribute video begins rolling on the IMAX screen and it’s the one and only MICK FOLEY. Cena introduces Foley and immediately begins digging into the upcoming match with The Rock at Mania.
Cena tells Mick that it must eat him alive to have broken his body year after year with little to no reward. That for everything he has accomplished, he still has nothing to his credit at Wrestlemania other than having Edge put him through a flaming table, getting pinned by Randy Orton, and getting Pedigreed through the Spanish Announce Table. Foley tells Cena that he’s gonna get more than he bargained for from his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania and as far as his OWN Wrestlemania moment goes, that may be the case, however, who’s to say that it won’t come this year. Foley says that the Wrestlemania card is still wide open for anyone to earn a spot, but that in the meantime, he has no problem creating a moment to remember tonight--RIGHT HERE IN KANSAS CITY (Cheap Pop. Thumbs Up).
Cena tells him that he’d love nothing more than to put Foley out of his misery on the spot, but that he’s busy with a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber tonight, because, unlike Foley, he’s still main event material and thus still relevant. However, Cena says HE has no problem letting The Nexus finish the job tonight. Cena tells Foley to find two tag team partners, otherwise this is what he can expect. The Nexus jump Foley, McGillicutty hits a spinning neckbreaker, Harris crushes Foley with a running senton splash and Mason Ryan helps Foley back to his feet to throw him head first through the popcorn machine. Cena takes the wounded Foley and throws him from the ring to the arena floor with an F-U to end the segment.
Jack Swagger and Alex Riley backstage, Swagger issues the challenge for Riley’s United States Championship at Elimination Chamber and Riley accepts. Swagger tells Riley that as the All-American American, he was born and bred to be the United States Champion, and that no matter how long Riley holds the title, he won’t amount to anything until he steps out of the Miz’ shadow and wins the big one. Miz wanders by and excuses himself, telling Swagger and Riley that he has an Elimination Chamber Match to qualify for.
Miz tells both of them that he will go into Wrestlemania once again as the WWE Champion and that he can’t be concerned with what his failed pupil and a guy who hasn’t been relevant since early 2010 are involved with. Swagger tries to plead his case, but Miz shoots him down, saying that he’s sure Swagger is doing just fine headlining on the “C” show in WWE. Miz walks off, and Riley tells Swagger that he won’t amount to much more until he gets a mouth bigger than his tongue. Swagger seethes as we go to commercial.
The Miz def. Alberto Del Rio and Evan Bourne to qualify for the Chamber
Bourne and The Miz enter to their old school themes. Finish comes when Del Rio connects with a top rope enziguri to Bourne. Del Rio attempts a Cross Armbreaker to Miz, but Miz counters with a Skull Crushing Finale...on top of the fallen Bourne. Miz covers Del Rio for the three count and now joins John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler inside the Chamber.
Cody Rhodes is backstage with Jeremy Borash. Cody promises to etch himself into the history books by doing something that neither his brother or even his father have accomplished in their entire careers. Cody says he will enter the Elimination Chamber, win, and go on to headline Wrestlemania, becoming the first superstar in 22 years to hold both the Intercontinental and World Heavyweight Championships at the same time. Theodore Long comes up and tells Cody to hold that thought, because he’s arranged for Cody to defend his IC Championship tonight and tells him the match is next.
J.R. and Jerry “The King” Lawler promote the first card for the new incarnation of NXT. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks will team up to take on Epico and Primo, Brodie Lee will go one-on-one with Tony Mamaluke and Smackdown will offer up D’Lo Brown versus Tyson Kidd.
As Cody enters we get a slide show of still shots featuring Cody eliminating Rey Mysterio at last night’s Rumble and subsequently being dumped from the match by Randy Orton. Cody shakes his head in disgust as he waits for his challenger.
Shelton Benjamin def. Cody Rhodes to become the NEW IC Champion
Good back and forth contest. Rhodes drills Benjamin with Cross Rhodes, but the finish comes when THE MILLION $ MAN comes down the entranceway, handing hundreds to the fans. Ted grabs Cody’s attention by climbing up on the ring apron and offering a few fistfuls. Cody knocks DiBiase off the apron with The Beautiful Disaster and Charles Robinson goes to the floor to tend to the fallen legend.
Meanwhile, TED DiBIASE, JR. is waiting behind Rhodes in the ring and stuns him with a Running High Knee. Benjamin regains his bearings and follows up on the surprise run-in with Paydirt for the three count. DiBiase escapes through the crowd as Benjamin celebrates with his newly won IC Title.
Lightning flashes on the screen, the signal cuts in and out with static and snow overtaking the image on the screen before the screen ultimately gives way to the multi-colored test pattern. The screen goes black and the number “173” repeatedly blinks on the frame. The signal cuts out again and the test pattern blares as the date 03/12/12 rolls across the screen and we go to break.
Back from commercial, and THE NEXUS is on their way to the ring to challenge Mick Foley and whichever partners he has had the time to select. Foley limps to the ring, head taped and arms heavily bandaged from the earlier Pearl Harbor assault. Foley says that he managed to find a couple of guys from Smackdown who were willing to step up to the plate and put the Nexus in their place. The first is RANDY ORTON, who is still injured himself and the second is the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble Match and NEW World Heavyweight Champion SHEAMUS. The trio storm the ring and the brawl is on.
Mick Foley, Randy Orton and Sheamus def. The Nexus
After several minutes of brawling, Sheamus drives Mason Ryan with a Brogue Kick, Orton drops McGillicutty with an RKO and Foley sics Mr. Socko on Husky Harris for the duke. After the match, Cena comes to the ring with a lead pipe and lectures the crew on how there’s no excuse for dropping a match to two severely injured superstars, one of which effectively retired in 2000. Cena orders them to line up on their knees and proceeds to bash each of them over the back of the head with the pipe. Cena tells them that beatings will continue until performance improves.
Backstage with Mean Gene Okerlund in the Event Center promoting the latest line of Throwback Merchandise now available on WWEShop.com.
Edge and Christian are in the locker room, still celebrating their 8th Tag Team Title win when Josh Matthews runs in and informs them that Paul Heyman has put in an official order for them to defend the tag team titles Wednesday Night on ECW against Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards--THE AMERICAN WOLVES. Edge leaves the room, informing Christian that he still has a match to get to and has yet to make the announcement as to who the new General Manager of RAW will be going forward as we go to commercial.
Back from break and we get another video package of the participants in the following contest collaborating for ten total eliminations during last night’s Rumble match. Hunter enters to his old “My Time” theme while Edge enters to “Never Gonna Stop”, signals to the back, and out saunters LITA. The Rated "R" Couple is back in business! Cena dusts off “Basic Thuganomics" and enrages the Kansas City faithful, entering while wearing a throwback John Elway jersey and rocking the chain.
John Cena def. Triple H and Edge to qualify for the Elimination Chamber
The match fell apart after Triple H set up for a Pedigree on Cena, but Edge blindsided The Game, sending him careening into the referee. With the ref unconscious, Alberto Del Rio seized upon his opportunity and convened on the ring to incapacitate Edge, but Edge has him scouted and the two begin exchanging blows. Christian comes to the ring armed with his Tag Title belt and takes a swing at Del Rio, but Del Rio ducks, sending Captain Charisma colliding with his tag partner. Triple H hits Del Rio with a Pedigree, then falls victim to an F-U. Cena covers the motionless Edge and gets the three count. The Nexus ringleader now takes his place alongside Miz, Morrison and Ziggler in the EC Main Event.
After the match, Edge is revived by Christian and forgives him for the infraction. The Rated R Superstar gets on the mic and announces his selection for the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW. Edge says that he naturally selected a fellow Canadian, one who didn’t get a fair shake at the job the first time around because the band that Cena waged war against--The Nexus--drove him out of the job. The permanent GM of Monday Night RAW is the one and ONLY--BRET “THE HITMAN” HART. The crowd EXPLODES as The Excellence of Execution treads down to the ring and shakes hands with Edge, who welcomes him back to the job. Bret gets on the mic and says that his first order of business is to book a Six-Man Tag Team Match Thursday Night on Superstars, featuring the participants of the Elimination Chamber Match. In other words, Cena, The Miz and Dolph Ziggler will team up against John Morrison and the winners of tonight’s final two qualifying matches. As the second hour comes to a close, we go to break.
Back from break and the WWE Slam of the Night is Zack Ryder surprising John Cena by eliminating him from the Rumble Match after The Rock’s theme cued up during the contest.
Zack Ryder makes his entrance for an opportunity to qualify for the Chamber, followed by MVP. Bret enters and says that there’s been a change of plans and that Ryder and MVP will not be competing against R-Truth tonight. The crowd boos until Bret announces that R-Truth has appointed a fitting substitute and out comes Truth as K-KWIK. It’s Time to Get ROWDY! As the ref gives us the bell.
K-Kwik def. Zack Ryder and MVP to qualify for the Elimination Chamber
MVP counters the Rough Ryder and comes back with The Play of the Day before priming K-Kwik for The Playmaker. Kwik counters out and responds with the Hat Rack Crack. Kwik scales the turnbuckle and polishes off Ryder with Hang Time to pick up the win and enter the chamber.
After the match, K-Kwik celebrates the victory until The BoogeyMan shows up with his alarm clock and slithers down to the ring. Boogey reaches into his pocket and offers Kwik a handful of earthworms, but Kwik responds by smashing the clock over his head and drilling him with Lil’ Jimmy. Truth exits to his current theme and shakes hands with all the Little Jimmies in attendance.
CM Punk is backstage, shining up his WWE Championship when Chris Jericho walks in and locks into a stare down with the champion. Punk says that he stands by what he told Jericho last night--He’s a hell of a fighter and he deserves his one-on-one rematch, but apparently, the powers that be decided that that won’t happen tonight, as Punk and Jericho will participate, as everyone else has tonight, in Triple Threat Action. Punk says he wants to make one thing perfectly clear. After tonight, he will STILL be WWE Champion, after the Elimination Chamber Match he will still be WWE Champion, and come Wrestlemania, he hopes to see Chris Jericho standing across the ring from him with the title on the line. Jericho smirks and tells Punk that he hopes to see Punk standing across from HIM at Wrestlemania, with HIS WWE Championship on the line. Punk smirks back and says he guesses that tonight’s main event will tell the story.
Brodus Clay and the Funkettes are on their way to the ring as we go to another break.
Back from break and Brodus has been interrupted by the Spirit Squad who have started up a rallying cry railing against The Funkasaurus. Suddenly it turns ugly as The Squad surrounds Brodus with the intention of a beatdown, but Brodus grabs a mic and tells the “Scrawny Green Turkeys” that they’re sadly mistaken if they think he didn’t bring back-up to this dust-up. Out comes SCOTTY 2 HOTTY and RIKISHI...and FLASH FUNK. Bret enters and tells them that it looks like we have the makings of an eight-man tag match. The bell rings and we’re underway.
Brodus Clay, Scotty 2 Hotty, Rikishi and Flash Funk def. The Spirit Squad
Brodus hits Kenny with What The Funk, Scotty hits the Worm on Mitch, Flash Funk lands a 450 Splash on Johnny and Rikishi crushes Mikey with a Banzai Drop. Brodus makes the cover and gets the quick three count. After the match, Kenny is dragged to the corner and Rikishi gives him the Stink Face. Brodus, Too Cool and Flash play to the crowd and wrap with a dance-off.
“Promotional Consideration Paid For By The Following...”
J.R. and King recap the Updated line-up for the Elimination Chamber Match at the upcoming PPV which now features John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, John Cena and The Miz. Who will join this field as the defending WWE Champion? The answer, still to come tonight.
Lilian Garcia introduces Howard Finkel who will serve as the Guest Ring Announcer for the upcoming Old School 20-Man Battle Royal: The participants featured include the new GM; BRET HART, recent Hall of Fame inductee JAKE “THE SNAKE“ ROBERTS, ROAD WARRIOR ANIMAL, ARN ANDERSON, ROWDY RODDY PIPER, SGT. SLAUGHTER, HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN, DUSTY RHODES, PAPA SHANGO, AKEEM, TED DiBIASE, JIMMY SNUKA, DOINK THE CLOWN, ROAD DOGG, KEN SHAMROCK, ADAM BOMB, KOKO B. WARE and AHMED JOHNSON. Everyone awaits the final entrant and is STUNNED when it’s HULK HOGAN!
Hulk Hogan wins a 20-Man “Old School” Battle Royal
The match boils down to Hogan and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Hogan eventually gets the better of his longtime friend and Bret grabs a mic at ringside and tells the Hulkster that he may notice that a certain legend is conspicuous by his absence tonight. Hart explains that he wanted to give Hogan a couple months notice to get back into the best ring shape he possibly can, because by virtue of his victory in the Battle Royal tonight, Hogan has earned the privilege to compete at Wrestlemania against this man in a match for the ages--The Glass Shatters and the crowd ERUPTS into a frenzy. Stone Cold Steve Austin runs down to the ring and begins pummeling Hogan, Hogan fights off and crawls back to his feet just in time to walk into a Stone Cold Stunner and the Sprint Arena just about ROCKS off the foundation as Austin engages in another huge beer bash, at first toasting, then sharing a Steve-Weiser with The Hitman.
J.R. and King promote another interviewing segment coming up next as WWE Champion CM Punk will be a special guest on--Oh my God, you guessed it--THE BROTHER LOVE SHOW.
Back from break and Brother Love is set up in the ring and introduces CM Punk, who enters to his old Killswitch theme. Punk tells Brother Love that he should be focusing on his upcoming title defense tonight and later at the Elimination Chamber PPV, but says instead he’s fixated on the man that HE introduced to the WWE, The Undertaker. Punk tells Brother Love to call Taker to the ring and tells him that he has sixty seconds to produce The Deadman or he’s going to sleep. Brother Love pleads with the Deadman to show up, but sixty seconds runs out and Punk nails Brother Love with the GTS. Punk grabs the mic and demands that Taker come down to the ring and answer him now regarding his involvement in last night’s Iron Man Match.
Punk doesn’t get an answer from Taker, but Triple H instead. Hunter says that he’s been focusing on several of his favorite adages that he’s encountered over the years, like “Don’t Cross The Boss”, “Anything can happen in the WWE” and perhaps most importantly, “Third time’s the charm...” Triple H demands an answer from The Undertaker regarding a rematch at Wrestlemania, completely disregarding Taker’s actions from the Rumble. Taker still doesn’t respond but KANE does.
The Big Red Monster tells Triple H that without question he took his brother to the limit in his two matches at Wrestlemania, but no one took the fight to the Undertaker like he did at 14 and 20. Kane says no one knows Taker better than him and he intends to demonstrate his dominance this year at Wrestlemania, when he finally ends the streak.
SHAWN MICHAELS storms to the ring and tells Kane and Triple H that while they both provide solid arguments, when people think of arguably the greatest matches in Wrestlemania history, both of his matches appear on the list. Michaels concedes that he vowed never to wrestle again, but JBL dragged him back into the ring and he inevitably caught the bug again. HBK says that if Undertaker is going to go back on his word of challenging either Punk and Jericho, then he has no problem going back on his own and stepping into the ring and finishing the job this year. Chris Jericho enters the ring and tells them that Taker will NOT go back on his word and that he fully intends to look The Undertaker in the eye and challenge him to make the match right here tonight.
Finally, The Undertaker emerges--on the bike--as the American Bad Ass (it IS RAW Goes Old School, after all) and tells all of them that he has made his decision, but is cut off by Bret Hart who tells everyone that the Royal Rumble was last night, and he’s not about to have another one break out right now. Bret books another match for the Elimination Chamber PPV, telling those in the ring that if they want their third chance at The Streak, they’ll have to earn it. At Elimination Chamber PPV, it will be TRIPLE H versus KANE versus SHAWN MICHAELS versus CHRIS JERICHO in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match, with the winner earning the right to challenge “The Streak”. Bret tells Punk and Jericho to get prepped because they still have a Chamber match to qualify for. The third wheel in their match, REY MYSTERIO, makes his entrance to the old 619 theme as we go to our final break.
CM Punk def. Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho to qualify for the Chamber
Finish comes as Jericho hits a Codebreaker on Mysterio, but the lights go out and when they come back up, Jericho is missing AGAIN. Punk is FUMING with rage as The Undertaker has robbed Jericho again. Mysterio hits a drop toe hold and goes for the 619, but Punk captures Mysterio, hoists him onto this shoulders and connects with the GTS to retain the title and become the final participant in the chamber. An understandably frustrated Punk helps Mysterio back to his feet. and is jumped from behind by Ziggler. Ziggler hits the ZigZag and is immediately dropped by Lil’ Jimmy. Truth then falls to a Skull Crushing Finale, Morrison stuns Miz with a Flying Chuck and Cena drops Morrison with the F-U. Punk sneaks up behind Cena and plants him with another GTS. Punk grabs a mic and tells The Undertaker that he’s earning enemies quickly before vowing to walk into Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion. Punk celebrates the title defense on the turnbuckle as RAW goes off the air.
