RAW Supershow Fantasy Card Results 02.06.12

Tonight's RAW Supershow comes to us live from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK as Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show. Advertised for tonight is John Morrison and R-Truth versus Dolph Ziggler and The Miz in tag team action.

Bret Hart emerges and tells the WWE Universe that he's determined to find the superstar that will main event Wrestlemania, challenging for the WWE Championship and that the Road to Wrestlemania will take the next step to find the one tonight. Hart says a series of six matches will take place tonight between superstars who fell short of qualifying for the Chamber last week with the tournament concluding the night after the Elimination Chamber PPV.

CM Punk enters and tells Bret that the idea is all well and good, and says he doesn't want to be misunderstood, that he has all the respect in the world for The Hitman as a man, a wrestler and now as the new RAW GM, but Punk has one question: What does Bret intend to do for those who fall short IN the Chamber? Do they get a shot to headline the Show of Shows? Bret explains that all six participants in the Chamber are actively participating in the tournament also. The winners of tonight's contests will have one of the Chamber participants waiting for them the night after Elimination Chamber on RAW.

Punk applauds Bret's efforts and says that there is just ONE last issue: Punk says he has a beef with John Cena being a participant in the Elimination Chamber, saying that he doesn't trust Cena as far as he could throw him so long as he has The Nexus in his back pocket. Hart says he understands Punk's plight, but tells him that his hands are tied unless the WWE Champion has a better suggestion. Punk tells Bret that he wants Cena and the Nexus in a Gauntlet Match tonight with the stipulation that if Punk goes through all of them, Cena will be removed from the Chamber and replaced, because, Punk says, he can think of about 10 or 12 other RAW superstars whom deserve the spot more. Bret grants the request and books the match for tonight's main event. Punk tells him that he made a wise decision and leaves the ring as we go to break.

John Morrison and R-Truth def. Dolph Ziggler and The Miz

Great opening match, finish comes when Morrison and Truth hit a sick combo finisher on Ziggler. Morrison connects with a Flying Chuck to the back of Ziggler's head which launches him directly into Lil' Jimmy by a waiting R-Truth. Truth makes the cover and gets the three count.

Bobby Roode is backstage, clearly still shaken by James Storm’s decision to turn his back on him to reunite with Chris Harris last week. Roode is angry, but says he doesn’t blame Storm for his actions. Roode concedes that he engaged in unsavory practices in the former TNA for the sake of the World Title and says he honestly had what happened last week coming to him. But Roode also warns Storm to keep his eyes peeled, because the next time they cross paths, it won’t be a handshake that greets The Cowboy.

J.R. and The King introduce the next member of the 2012 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame, THE BRITISH BULLDOG.

Edge def. Drew McIntyre

In a callous gesture, McIntyre tries to put Edge back on the shelf permanently with FutureShock, but Edge counters out and skewers McIntyre with a Spear for the three count. Edge moves forward in the Wrestlemania main event tourney. After the match, JEFF HARDY bolts down to ringside, slides into the ring and throws a steel chair in his face. Hardy hits a Swanton and batters McIntyre repeatedly with the chair before putting Drew’s face through it with a Twist of Fate. As EMTs tend to the fallen Scotsman, Hardy grabs a mic and tells McIntyre that he put him on a stretcher at SNME back in January and this was Hardy just returning the favor. Hardy says if McIntyre feels like having a tiebreaker, he’d be more than willing to compete in a STRETCHER MATCH at Elimination Chamber. Hardy says there’s no need to respond tonight, seeing as how he’s unconscious, but he awaits an answer before February 19.

A teaser for Punk versus The Nexus later tonight as we go to commercial.

Back from break and J.R. and King recap the EC PPV card, which now features eight matches and discusses the possibility of a ninth as Hardy recently invited McIntyre to a Stretcher match. The theme for Elimination Chamber is Sixx:AM’s “This Is Gonna Hurt”.

Kurt Angle is backstage with Batista telling him that Alberto Del Rio has sent him to invite The Animal to join his team at Elimination Chamber. Batista accepts. It will now be Edge versus Batista Friday Night on Smackdown to determine who stays with their team at the PPV.

Alberto Del Rio def. MVP

MVP presented a challenge, but Del Rio shifted the tide by centralizing the attack on MVP’s right arm, first with a top rope can opener, then an enziguri to the shoulder, an Irish whip to the ringpost and a jumping armbreaker before locking in the Cross Armbreaker for the duke. Del Rio will now advance to his randomly chosen Chamber participant next week in the quest to be the #1 contender at Wrestlemania.

Bret Hart is backstage, speaking to CM Punk again about next week’s Supershow. Bret tells Punk that he had better be prepared to compete twice next week, because following the Championship Chase Tournament, the six participants in the Chamber will compete in a Six-Pack Challenge Match to determine the final entry into the Chamber. Punk ups the ante and tells Bret instead of having everyone compete twice next week, to include the participants in the Chamber in the Championship Chase the night after the PPV. Punk invites Bret to include the three winners from next week’s contests and set up an eight-man bracket with the five superstars who come up short the night after Elimination Chamber. Bret takes this under consideration and makes it happen. The next few weeks are going to be VERY interesting.

Triple H is backstage with Shawn Michaels, questioning whether Shawn can still go in the ring. Shawn asks him if he saw him in the TLC match against JBL. Hunter says he saw a bloody brawl that saw not a triumph but a survival. Shawn says that’s what his entire career has been, survival. HBK tells The Game not to worry about him, and come Elimination Chamber, just worry about himself. HBK vows that he will challenge The Streak again, and says that “Mr. Wrestlemania doesn’t miss three times...”

Another teaser for the Gauntlet Match between Punk and The Nexus later on tonight as we go to break.

Rey Mysterio def. Evan Bourne

Great high flying match between these two. Finish came when Mysterio rolled back to his feet to dodge Air Bourne. Bourne lands on his feet, but Mysterio throws a dropkick to Bourne’s back and connects with the 619. Mysterio stuns the crowd by scaling to the top turnbuckle and landing his OWN Shooting Star Press for the duke.

America’s Most Wanted backstage with Bret demanding to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships and The Hitman grants them their match against the titleholders the night after Elimination Chamber.

DDP hypes up Zack Ryder for his opportunity to move forward in the Championship Chase tonight. William Regal walks in while the Long Island duo are in the midst of a fist-pumping session, simply shakes his head out of confusion and walks back out.

Another teaser runs for the Gauntlet Match. Interesting to note that Cena has not yet been spotted tonight.

Triple H def. Batista via DQ

Finish came when Triple H set up for the Pedigree and ALBERTO DEL RIO rushed in to make the save. Del Rio jumps Triple H from behind and throws an Enziguri, drawing a DQ. An enraged Batista begins berating his projected partner at Elimination Chamber and shoves him to the ground. Del Rio gets back to his feet and gets right into Batista’s face. Mistake. A Batista Bomb later, The Animal leaves the ring while a broken Del Rio lies in a heap. The Game gets back to his feet and drops an already unconscious Del Rio with a Pedigree.

Beth Phoenix is in Bret’s office invoking her rematch clause for next week on RAW, but the GM says he already booked a challenger for Natalya next week. Beth says its an outrage and demands to know who’s more deserving of a title match than she is, when suddenly the massive shadow of KHARMA shows up behind her back. The Glamazon locks eyes with the Diva Destruction Machine and slowly walks out of the office.

Lightning flashes across the screen again and we get the same static, snow and test patterns that we saw all of last week, but with a different code rolling across the screen. The screen goes black and the word “REVENGE” flashes on the screen before the signal cuts back out to the test pattern and again, the date 03/12/12 rolls across the screen as we go to break.

Chris Jericho def. Kofi Kingston

Brilliant piece of tomfoolery from Jericho. Kofi cues up for Trouble in Paradise when suddenly Jericho clutches his forehead and collapses to the mat. Charles Robinson examines Jericho and signals for EMTs by throwing up the “X”. EMTs rush down and begins using flashlights to examine motor function in Jericho’s eyes and begin pulling out the flat boards to carry Jericho to the back. Kofi comes in to check on Jericho himself and that’s when Y2J pounced. Picking Kingston’s ankle, Jericho quickly rolls Kofi into the Walls of Jericho and transitions into the Lion Tamer. Kofi taps out and Jericho moves on. WOW.

The bracket is coming together now as next week we will see Triple H go one-on-one with Edge and now Jericho will square off with Alberto Del Rio. Mysterio awaits his opponent after the next contest.

A promo counting down the days until Wrestlemania. We’re 55 Days Away.

The Nexus is seen walking backstage, but still no sign of Cena. If Punk successfully knocks off Cena and company, John Cena will be replaced in the Chamber match. Gauntlet match is teased for later tonight as we go to commercial.

Jeff Hardy def. Zack Ryder

Hardy counters the Rough Ryder and comes back with a Twist of Fate before nailing Long Island Iced Z with a Swanton Bomb to move on. Rey Mysterio will now move on to face Jeff Hardy next week.

Santino Marella is in Bret’s office trying to pitch match concepts when Cena FINALLY bursts in with the Nexus in tow and tries to coerce The Hitman into reconsidering tonight’s stipulation. Bret says he was bullied out of this position once by a much stronger Nexus than what he sees before him now and he won’t let it happen again. Hart tells Cena and The Nexus to get to the ring because the match is next.

WWE Champion CM Punk heads to the ring for the main event as we go to our final commercial.

John Cena and The Nexus def. CM Punk in a Gauntlet Match

Punk puts away Harris first with the Anaconda Vise, then dispatches McGillicutty with a Savage Diving Elbow and struggles mightily, but eventually puts Mason Ryan away with the GTS. Cena starts walking to the ring, but the lights go down and The Undertaker pops up in the ring. Punk and Taker start brawling and eventually the WWE Champion gets the upper hand and stuns Taker with another GTS. In the midst of the confusion, Cena sneaks into the ring and rolls up Punk for the three count. Cena stays in the chamber and an incredulous Punk shakes his head at the unconscious Undertaker before storming out of the ring.

Punk grabs a mic and says if he doesn’t win the Six-Pack Challenge next week, he will voluntarily sign up for the #1 entrant in the Elimination Chamber and vows to go wire to wire to defend his title. Punk promises The Undertaker that if he so much as interferes with another match featuring himself or Chris Jericho again, he will personally put The Deadman to sleep for good. Punk celebrates with the title as RAW goes off the air.
