WWE Smackdown Results 11/25/11

Tonight's Smackdown opens with Mr. McMahon pacing backstage apologizing to one Dixie Carter for the unexplained backstage attacks by the Nexus at last night's TNA Impact. According to the conversation, Vince apologizes on behalf of the Nexus for the unsolicited attacks of Robbie E, Shannon Moore and Scott Steiner. Vince vows to order a public apology next Monday Night on RAW.

Tonight's Smackdown emanates from the Nassau Coliseum as Josh Matthews and Matt Striker welcome us to the show. Advertised for tonight's main event is Bryan Danielson defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Mark Henry plus Booker T and Ted DiBiase teaming up for an opportunity to challenge for Cody Rhodes' Intercontinental Title at TLC.

The Big Show def. Jinder Mahal

The enraged giant tears through Mahal, dropping him with a WMD, pinning him and storming off.

LayCool backstage, reunited after Michelle McCool's departure last April, prepping for a tag team match with Trish Stratus and a partner of her choosing next...

Trish Stratus and Mickie James def. LayCool

A surprisingly good divas tag match, Beth Phoenix and Natalya joined Josh and Striker on commentary for the match. Finish came when Layla took a simultaneous Chick Kick/Mick Kick combination and Mickie made the cover for the three.
Booker T and Ted DiBiase discussing strategy in preparation for their match as we go to commercial.

Booker T & Ted DiBiase def. The Hart Dynasty to earn an Intercontinental Title shot at TLC

Cody Rhodes joins on commentary. Finish comes when a returning David Hart Smith RETURNS the favor, walking out on Tyson Kidd mid-match. Tyson falls victim to a Scissor Kick, and Booker makes the cover to lock up the three. Cody throws down his headset, tries to storm off, but is cut off at the pass by Booker and Ted. DiBiase hits dream street and a handshake and staredown follows before the two challengers go their separate ways.

Hornswoggle runs into the ring carrying a black bag and reveals that he has brought back the Cruiserweight Championship with the intent to defend it. This brings out Theodore Long, who says it's a capital idea and tells Hornswoggle that he knows just the guy to challenge for it. This brings out another surprising return in CHAVO GUERRERO, the last man to hold it before the leprechaun retired the belt.

Chavo Guerrero def. Hornswoggle to become the NEW Cruiserweight Champion

The match proceeds with the usual shenanigans from Hornswoggle, ultimately leading up to an attempted Tadpole Splash, but Chavo gets his knees up in time to catch him in the ribs before rolling him up for a three count to take the title back. After the match, Chavo continued the assault, hitting Hornswoggle with a Frog Splash, then another and was about to land a third, when FINLAY returned, charging down to the ring to chase the new champion off.
The Belfast Brawler helps Hornswoggle back to his feet, only to stun the crowd by inexplicably clubbing him across the face with the shillelagh, leaving him lying before storming to the back, shaking his head.

Theodore Long announces a Four Corners Tag Team Match to determine who gets a shot at the Titles next week on Smackdown and says that the match is next.

Deuce N’ Domino def. The World’s Greatest Tag Team, Hawkins & Archer, and Santino Marella & Vladamir Kozlov to become #1 contenders.

Finish came when Hawkins, Archer, Haas and Benjamin brawled into the stands, leaving Santino to get cracked in the mouth for the pin. Deuce N’ Domino will face The Kings of Wrestling for the tag team titles next week on Smackdown!

Christian runs into Orton and Sheamus backstage, and tells them that their business is far from over. Christian tells both of them that they are to blame for none of them being #1 contender tonight. Captain Charisma vows to exact a measure of revenge in six-man tag action tonight.

Sheamus, Randy Orton and Scotty 2 Hotty def. Christian and The Dudebusters

A returning Caylen Croft returns to team with his brother-in-arms Trent Barreta, only to set Christian up for failure by walking away after Christian let them absorb most of the beating from Sheamus and Orton. Christian gets nailed with a Brogue Kick and an RKO before Scotty tags and hits the Worm for the three.

As was done with Monday Night Raw, a split screen is run between the considerably undersized World Heavyweight Champion and the angry Kodiak bear of a #1 contender that is Mark Henry. World Heavyweight Championship Match is NEXT!

Bryan Danielson def. Mark Henry to remain World Heavyweight Champion

A solid 15-minute back and forth match. Finish came when Henry set up for the World’s Strongest Slam, only to have Danielson drop behind, throw a chop block and apply a Grapevine Ankle Lock on the “broken” leg. Henry has no choice but to tap out.
Danielson celebrates, but Henry’s not going down without the last word. Henry attempts to induct the champion into the Hall of Pain, but Kane rushes down to make the save, fighting off Henry and going for a chokeslam before Henry escapes to the entrance ramp. Theodore Long announces that Kane and Henry both will be part of a Beat The Clock Challenge Next Week on Smackdown to determine Danielson’s #1 contender at TLC. Kane summons fire to end the show.
