WWE Smackdown Results 12/2/2011

Theodore Long enters to start off tonight's show, which comes to us live from Charlotte, NC as Josh Matthews welcomes us to the show. Josh is joined on commentary by Matt Striker. Teddy tells it as he told it at the end of last week's show, that tonight would be Beat The Clock Night to determine Bryan Danielson's #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC.
Long explains that through a series of six matches tonight the superstar that wins in the shortest amount of time gets the shot. Long is interrupted by Christian, who tells the GM that he has been calling for one more match for the World Championship since it was robbed of him over the summer and vows that tonight he'll prove he's worthy of yet another shot. Teddy steps aside and tells him that now is his chance to set the trend that the rest of the evening will follow in a qualifying match...with Sheamus.

Sheamus def. Christian at 12:23

Solid match with momentum shifting back and forth several times. Finish came as Christian hit the Spear and was prepared to drop the Killswitch when the lights went down and a ring of fire appeared in the floor of the ringside area. Out of nowhere, GANGREL rises from the flames, chalice in hand, and climbs on the ring apron. Perplexed but seemingly pleased to see his old acquaintance, Christian greets Gangrel only to receive a face full of blood spit in his face.
The temporary distraction was enough to help Sheamus to his feet and nail Christian with a Brogue Kick before following up with a High Cross Powerbomb to set the time to beat.

A recap of last week's tag team match between Ted DiBiase, Booker T and The Hart Dynasty is shown and Striker recaps how the victory ensures a title shot at Cody Rhodes' Intercontinental Title for both DiBiase and Booker T.

Cody Rhodes seen walking backstage, headed to the ring for his Beat The Clock match next as we go to commercial.

Cody Rhodes enters and cuts a promo on TLC, saying that he's proved on several occasions that he is better than DiBiase and that he's made it no secret how he feels about Booker T. Cody calls DiBiase the "Jannetty" of Priceless and says that the only thing that kept Booker T being the Jannetty of Harlem Heat was a career-ending injury to Stevie Ray. Cody says that the Triple Threat is an irrelevant threat, because the unbridled Cody Rhodes is an indestructible Cody Rhodes.
As Cody awaits his Beat The Clock opponent, the theme hits and RHYNO has returned to the WWE! The crowd has come unhinged for the return of the Man-Beast.

Cody Rhodes def. Rhyno at 9:35

After spending much of the contest on the defensive, Cody Rhodes slips out of an attempt at a Running Powerslam and rattles Rhyno’s temple with a Beautiful Disaster before dropping The War Machine with Cross Rhodes for the duke. After the match, an overzealous Rhodes fails to see Rhyno get back to his feet before administering the nastiest GORE seen in some time. Rhyno celebrates his return with the fans before heading to the back as we go to another commercial.

Another mysterious promo airs; this one says “To reclaim what others have taken...For theft shall not go unpunished. Second2012. SHARE HIM, REJOICE--041700.”

WWE Slam of the Week is Kane making the save for Bryan Danielson against Mark Henry after last week’s main event.

Teddy Long tells Wade Barrett that he’ll allow him to compete in a Beat The Clock Match tonight on the condition that he promise that the Nexus not get involved in the contest. Barrett tells Long that he has his word.

Striker and Matthews do a rundown of the existing card at TLC thus far, including a Tables Match between Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler, a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match between JBL and Shawn Michaels for total control of RAW, a World Heavyweight Championship Match between Bryan Danielson and tonight’s Beat The Clock winner with a stipulation to be named, the triple threat IC Title match and a 10-on-10 Elimination Tag Match between The Nexus and whatever team Triple H is able to field.

Kane and Ted DiBiase unable to beat the clock

Finish came as Kane set up for a chokeslam and DiBiase escapes, throwing a chop block. DiBiase connects with Dream Street, but the ref can only get to a two count before time expires. Cody Rhodes still has the time to beat.

Backstage interview with Finlay and Jack Korpela. Korpela asks for an explanation for last week’s actions. Finlay tells the crowd that Hornswoggle softened his image and ruined whatever credibility he had left. The Irish Warrior tells those in attendance that he’s disgusted with the fact that they all applauded the new attitude and approach. Finlay says his name is Finlay and he loves to fight--but to get back to business, he had to sever ties with the very parasite that held him down for years.

Split screen between The Kings of Wrestling and Deuce N’ Domino. Tag Team Titles on the line, Next!

The Kings of Wrestling versus Deuce N’ Domino ended in a no-contest

Match fell into chaos when Sara Del Rey began beating down Cherry on the outside. The distraction provided an opening for The Kings to connect with KRS TWO on Domino, but before a decision could be reached, LAX jumped through the crowd, hitting Claudio with a Drive-By Senton and taking out Hero with a Border Toss and a Frog Splash. Before the beatdown continues, The MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS come charging down the ramp to chase off LAX before turning their attention to Deuce N’ Domino. MCMG connects with an ASCS Rush on Domino before dropping Deuce (don’t laugh) with Made In Detroit. Shelley and Sabin celebrate their debut on the corners, playing to the crowd as we go to commercial.

As we return, Josh Matthews says that it announced during the break that The Kings of Wrestling will defend the Tag Team Titles at TLC in the first ever Tag Team Invitational Battle Royal against however many teams sign on the dotted line outside Long’s office between now and the PPV.

The Big Show def. Hunico at 3:07

Finish came as Hunico got the Big Show off of his feet to attempt a Swanton Bomb, but Sin Cara’s music inexplicably starts playing which creates a distraction. Show recuperates and grabs Hunico by the throat while still perched on the top rope. Show shushes Hunico, then clubs him with a WMD while still atop the ropes, watching him collapse to the canvas. Show makes the cover and picks up the new time to beat.

Sin Cara enters, preparing for his match with an unknown opponent in the Beat The Clock Challenge, but becomes quickly disheartened when he finds that he’ll have to beat the Big Show’s new time of 3:07 against The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry.

Mark Henry def. Sin Cara at 2:54

Undeterred, Sin Cara immediately goes after the bum ankle, even bringing Henry down to one knee before taking him off his feet with a beautiful Shining Wizard. With momentum behind him, Sin Cara connects with a Springboard Senton followed by a Lionsault. It’s on the Lionsault, however, that Cara seals his fate.
The luchador logs a two count, before Henry sits up with Cara in tow, gets back to his feet, and plants Sin Cara with a vicious World’s Strongest Slam to collect the fastest time up until this point.

Bryan Danielson enters with the title and walks down to the broadcast booth to join Striker and Matthews on commentary. Meanwhile, Henry steps out of the ring and joins commentary on the other end of the table as we go to our final commercial.

Randy Orton and Wade Barrett unable to beat the clock

Finish came as Orton connected with an RKO as time expired. As the clock runs out, Dolph Ziggler makes a run-in while Cody Rhodes jumps the barricade to mount a three-on-one assault, DiBiase and Booker T rush down to fight off Cody and Ziggler.
Orton, DiBiase and Booker all hit their finishers to drive the heels from the ring while Mark Henry and Bryan Danielson engage in a standoff at the broadcast table. Danielson taunts Henry (his new #1 contender at TLC) with the World Heavyweight Title before Henry clubs him behind the head and drives him through the announce table with another World’s Strongest Slam.
Teddy Long interrupts the chaos to announce that next week’s main event will be an Eight-Man Tag Team Match: Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry versus Booker T, Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton and the World Heavyweight Champion, Bryan Danielson! Orton scales the turnbuckle and locks eyes with Mark Henry to end the show.
