Tonight's RAW Supershow opens with TNA and WWE fans alike reeling at what happened at the conclusion of last night's TNA Final Resolution PPV. In the midst of the main event, Cena and the Nexus stormed SWAT Team style into the office of, and abducted TNA President Dixie Carter before binding her hands and feet, throwing her into the back of the Nexus Cruiser and tearing out of the parking lot with TNA personnel in hot pursuit.
The Nexus arrive on stage in the cruiser and retrieve Dixie from the back of the bus, still restrained. Cena gets on the mic and says that the "Greater Cause" draws nearer and nearer to accomplishment with just a few more obstacles standing in the way. Cena says that that brings us to tonight and to Dixie Carter. Cena tells Dixie that by hiring the same people that drove WCW into the ground, that in essence she had turned TNA into WCW and as a result, it was only a matter of time before failure caught up with her, which brings us to this very moment. Cena initiates a 10-on-1 beatdown the likes of which no one has ever seen, nor would have ever expected. ALL Members of Nexus hit their finishers on Dixie Carter, ending with Wasteland, a 450 Splash and the STFU.
Unconscious, Carter is subject to Nexus' whims with not a sign of aid in sight. Cena signals to Mason Ryan, Ezekiel Jackson and Skip Sheffield to head to the back of the bus and the trio returns moments later with a wooden box, a hammer and a box of nails. The Nexus leader appears to be setting Carter up for a Texas Funeral as he lays her into the box and nails it shut. Cena heads to the back of the bus himself and grabs a decent length of rope and ties it to the end of the box. Cena pulls the box up the stage and into the gorilla position.
Once backstage, Cena drags the makeshift coffin into the parking lot, where he ties it to the trailer hitch of an idling pickup truck. Cena mounts up into the truck and takes Dixie on a little JOYRIDE through downtown Norfolk, VA as we go to commercial.
Stacy Keibler wins a 20-Diva Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the Women’s Championship at TLC
In a match that also featured: Natalya, Tamina, Mickie James, Trish Stratus, Maryse, Sara Del Rey, Torrie Wilson, Melina, Lita, Chyna, Michelle McCool, Layla, Maria, Candice Michelle, a returning VICTORIA, a returning LILIAN GARCIA, Cherry, a returning ASHLEY MASSARO and a returning SABLE; finish came down to Stacy, Natalya, Lita and Trish. Trish attempted Stratusfaction on Lita, but Lita uses the momentum to carry Trish over the top rope and to the floor.
Natalya sneaks up on Lita and dumps her out from behind, leaving Natalya and Stacy Keibler. Beth Phoenix steps up on the apron to seemingly offer strategy to her partner in crime, but Stacy attacks from behind and tries to dump Natalya out, with little success at first until Beth pulls Natalya over the top rope in an attempt to gain leverage and instead ends up eliminating her Sister in destruction. Stacy will challenge Beth Phoenix for the Women’s Championship at TLC.
After the contest, Natalya glares at Beth incredulously for costing her the title shot. Beth tries to plead her case, but Natalya isn’t having it and walks away as we go to another commercial.
Another mysterious promo runs, this one says “...Immortals will bow...Second2012: SHARE HIM, REJOICE--082505.”
Zack Ryder def. Husky Harris
Prior to the match, Zack Ryder says in the past week, he’s traveled to the Jersey Shore and stumbled upon a guy who has agreed to become his manager and all-around Broski for life--None other than DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE.
Finish came as Ryder missed a Broski Boot and ended up getting dropped with a Swinging Reverse STO. Page jumps up on the apron, creating a distraction for Harris. Harris turns to drop his Running Senton, but Ryder dodges at the last minute and cues up for the Rough Ryder to pick up the victory.
Backstage with CM Punk, who is being interviewed by WWE’s next new addition...JEREMY BORASH. Punk looks perplexed before asking JB “Don’t I know you from somewhere? Hmm...” Punk digresses, telling Borash that he’s not exactly thrilled about teaming up with K-Kwik tonight to take on Carlos Mencia and The Situation, but that he’ll carry the flag of diplomacy for one night and tag up as long as it means they all get to beat the hell out of each other for the WWE Championship atop a twenty-foot ladder on Sunday night.
Punk speaks directly to The Miz, telling him that if he thinks he knows from Skull Crushing Finales, to wait until tonight’s main event before leaving Borash in his wake.
Alex Riley def. Drew McIntyre and Jack Swagger (Jack Swagger eliminated)
Finish came as Swagger locked in the Ankle Lock on Riley and was on the verge of locking in the Grapevine when McIntyre jumped to the apron in an attempt to break the hold. Riley shifts momentum, tossing Swagger directly into McIntyre’s ribs and off the apron. The split-second collision is enough to give Riley and opportunity at a roll-up and a three count. After the match, an angered Swagger drops Riley with a Gutwrench Powerbomb and a Swagger Bomb before leaving the ring. McIntyre takes advantage of Swagger’s work, planting Riley with Futureshock. Drew stands victoriously over his fallen opponent and the two will meet one final time with the title on the line at TLC.
Another promo runs for Punk/Truth vs. Miz/Del Rio later tonight.
The Game in his office with Michaels telling HBK to be on the look out for anything JBL may have prepared for Sunday night in the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Hunter warns that JBL is willing to try anything to get as much control as possible. Michaels tells Hunter to remember who he’s talking to before leaving the office. Hunter gets a visit from Scott Stanford, who informs him of a match sent down from Stamford and that he’s scheduled for a match tonight with Mason Ryan as we go to commercial.
Otunga and McGillicutty def. Air Boom
Finish came as Kofi connected with Trouble in Paradise to Otunga and Bourne wrapped with Air Bourne. Completely unaware that McGillicutty was the legal man, Bourne falls victim to the Spiral Cutter for the three count.
MVP returns with the first new segment of the VIP Lounge and his first guest is his TLC opponent, Brodus Clay. MVP reminds Clay that he’s already gotten a taste of what he’s capable of, including the run-in during Brodus’ match with JTG three weeks ago and in the disqualification victory that followed. MVP concedes that he also knows what Clay is capable of. However, MVP also tells the one-man wrecking crew that he DOESN’T yet know how dirty he’s capable of fighting. MVP throws a low blow and drops Brodus with a Playmaker before overturning the couch onto his fallen opponent and leaving the lounge.
King and J.R. recap the updated card for TLC
Another promo for the main event
Triple H seen backstage, heading to ringside when suddenly a cloud of brawling tag teams roll through in front of him, doubtless in preparation for the Tag Team Battle Royal on Sunday. Hunter casts them a confused look, says “That was weird....” shrugs it off and continues moving. Triple H in action next!
Triple H versus Mason Ryan ended in a no contest
Triple H never had any plan of winning, much less competing in the match. As Ryan waits in the ring, Hunter climbs on the ring apron and produces the sledgehammer from behind his back before doing a number on the hired muscle of the Nexus. Triple H plants Ryan with a Pedigree before storming back to his office.
An announcement runs promoting WWE’s Tribute to the Troops, which is set to take place Monday Night, December 26 from New Jersey’s Fort Dix. Scheduled to perform are Skillet, Halestorm and New Jersey’s own Bon Jovi.
Backstage we find that Cena has finally returned in the pick-up truck and is now driving a few laps around the parking garage, the wooden box containing Dixie Carter still swinging helplessly from the back of the truck. WWE personnel and referees are fruitlessly chasing the speeding truck as we go back to ringside.
John Morrison def. Skip Sheffield
Sheffield dominated much of the contest, but the momentum shifted dramatically as Morrison was set up for a Vertical Suplex and countered by throwing knees to Sheffield’s head. Once free from the hold, Morrison connected with a Flying Chuck, a Running Knee Smash and capped it off with Starship Pain to pick up the surprise victory.
Cena’s truck is now fishtailing through the parking garage before the Nexus ringleader finally slams on the brakes, slinging the box containing Dixie into a support pillar in the garage, bending the frame and splintering it. Officials try to convene on the victim only to have Cena jump out of the cab of the truck violently swinging a crowbar, chasing them all off. The Doctor of Thuganomics reaches into the bed of the pickup and pulls out a can of gasoline.
In perhaps the most shockingly atrocious act performed by the Nexus, Cena douses the box containing Dixie Carter and sets it ablaze, watching stoically as it burns. Cena walks away as the officials return to desperately extinguish the flames.
CM Punk & R-Truth def. The Miz & Alberto Del Rio
The match winds down as The Miz connects with a Corner Clothesline to R-Truth and takes a cheap shot at the WWE Champion. Punk falls off the apron and goes under the ring to grab an iron weight and stealthily slip the donut under his knee pad out of the referee’s line of vision. Truth hits Lil’ Jimmy on Del Rio and The Miz counters with a Reality Check, unaware that Punk made a blind tag after Truth connected with his finisher on Del Rio. After exchanging blows, Punk rolls out of a Skull Crushing Finale attempt, sending Miz rolling into the corner.
Punk clobbers Miz with a Shining Wizard from the weighted knee. As Miz staggers out of the corner, Punk drops Miz with the GTS to pick up the three count and the win. After the match, Punk slips the weight over his fist and takes out Truth for good measure before basking in his new found momentum heading into the PPV as RAW goes off the air.
